The Most popular Poker Games

For more then 100 years all over the world people have been playing poker, and for as many years as it has been played there are just as many different variations of poker.

Most of the different games are still based on the same hand rankings.

Poker hands are ranked in the following way:

• Royal Flush
  5 cards from 10 to Ace and all cards must be the same suite
• Straight Flush
  And 5 cards in a row with all 5 cards being the same suite.
• Four of a Kind
  Any four cards where all 4 are the same. If more then one player has a 4 of a kind the player with the highest 4 of a kind wins, so four 9%u2019s beats four 5%u2019s.
• Full House
  Any 3 of a kind and a 2 of a kind making use of all 5 cards.
• Flush
  Any 5 cards non sequential but of the same suite
• Straight
  Any 5 cards in numerical order but of different suites
• Three of a Kind
  Any 3 cards that are the same rank

Two-pair
Any two cards that are the same numbers and another pair of cards that is different from the first two cards.

One-pair
A pair is when you have any 2 cards that are the same in your hand

High-card
When you have a hand that does not even have a pair you can win if none of the other players have a pair if your highest card is higher then theirs.
