A Poker Run with a Twist

2006-03-02 10:52:00
A Northern California County decides to take advantage of a snow storm by throwing a poker run.

A poker run has generally been an event involving motorcycles. Each rider is given a map with a marked out rout, and along the rout are marked stops. Each rider then goes from stop to stop collecting cards used to make a poker hand. At the end of the ride all riders compare their hands and the rider with the best hand wins.

Well after a recent snowstorm in the northern California county of Plumas. The locals decided not to waste this opportunity and to host a poker run with a small twist. The twist is that they riders were to be on snowmobiles.

The event had about 180 riders who raced along a 50 mile laid out course running along rivers and forests, stopping to collect their cards on the way.

The prize for 1st place was 250 dollars and was won with a hand of 4 kings. Second place won 150 dollars and 3rd was 100 dollars.
