Poker Stars Runs Huge Weekly Tournament

Poker Stars has beaten the record, running the largest weekly tournament in history.

A regular Sunday No-Limit Holdem poker tournament at Poker Stars.com has recently beaten the record. With 2,556 players taking part and 511,200 US dollars prize pool, it has become the largest online or land based weekly tournament ever. Global poker events such as World Series of Poker or World Poker Tour collect much larger prize pools, but no other weekly tournament has ever approached this level.

The main prize of 102,240 US dollars was won by a player under nickname Dsavo from Arhus, Denmark. Another 270 Poker Stars players also received money prizes paying only 215 dollars entry to Poker Stars Sunday tournament.
