Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board rejected three applications for slot machine casino licenses. After the board rejection, the number of groups competing for the 14 state casino licenses dropped to 22.
Thamer Collins of Trum Construction Co. application was rejected because he did not provide required economic information. Collins was required to provide 5,000 dollars filing fee and an approval that he would be able to pay the state 50 million dollars upfront fee. Since he could not provide this, his application to build a slot machine casino along the Monongahela River near Sandcastle water park was rejected.
Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board rejected two other casino licenses applications, by Alco Parking President Merrill Stabile and by Lancaster based group. Mr. Stabile had announced he was removing his casino bid.
