Two officers to stand trial for participating in illegal gambling

A Comanche County judge has ruled that 2 former law officers who have been accused of gambling at the Chickasha Elks lodge should stand trial.

The same judge also ruled that there was not enough evidence against a third officer also accused of gambling at the elks lodge to charge him with Felony Gambling by a Peace Officer.

All together 8 former and current Grady County Police Officers are currently under investigation about their alleged gambling at the elks lodge after the lodge as raided back in September.

Amongst the officers arrested are a husband and wife, the husband is a current county sheriff and the wife was a police supervisor until she was fired from her position.

According to the district attorney the 8 were arrested after the Elks Club was raided after a year long undercover operation uncovered the fact that several police officers not only knew about the illegal gambling and said nothing about it to superiors, but took part in the illegal activities.

During the raid several slot machines and video poker machines were found and confiscated, but police also found evidence of regularly held lotteries and poker tournaments.
