Kentucky argues about authorizing casino gambling. KEEP, the Kentucky Equine Education Project with its influential horse industry promotes and sponsors the Kentucky casino campaign. On the other hand, religious leader objects bringing casinos into Kentucky.
James Navolio, Executive Director of KEEP said that Kentucky has to maintain its status as the horse capital of the world by establishing horse race tracks. Rep. Denver Butler D-Louisville also supports gambling legalization. He said that allowing gambling in Kentucky would help keep the money in the state.
Some of Kentucky religious leaders collaborated with a new group called Say No to Casinos. They say they are worried from the damage to society caused by unwarranted gambling. They are also worried from being unable to compete with the huge mass media campaigns prepared by casino gambling promoters.
