Business man arrested during Dallas Layover.
The Chief Executive Officer for BetonSports was arrested on Sunday while on a layover in Dallas Texas on his way o Costa Rica Where BetonSports is based. His is being charged with racketeering, conspiracy and an illegal online gambling enterprise. And Other Execs in the Gaming Industry world are paying close attention.
The arrest of the CEO of BetonSports has apparently scared the gaming industries other CEO’s. The BoDog.com gaming conference is one of the year’s biggest gaming conventions which usually brings gaming professionals from around the globe, was scheduled, but now it has been cancelled out of concerns from the industries other CEO’s.
“After the arrest of one of their colleagues none of the gaming industries executives will set foot in the USA” the founder of BoDog was quoted as saying, he continued to say “These People are not criminals they are professional business people and are not going to risk being a showcase for some prosecutor trying to make a name for him self.”
They have decided to move the conference to someplace outside the USA like Canada, the Bahamas of Costa Rica in 2 or 3 months. This was to be the last year the conference was going to be held in the USA. It had already been decided to move the conference next year because of America’s unfriendly attitude towards the gaming industry.
BetonSports is a sportsbook and unlike the casinos and poker rooms is clearly against American laws and is covered by the Federal Wire Act of 1961, and they once operated in the United States. The Majority of the attendees of the BoDog conference are in the card gaming section of the industry and do not operate their business from inside the USA. This makes them much harder for the USA to touch, but they are not going to take the chance of getting arrested and prosecuted.
